Clean Up Day 2025: Together against littering
About 20 volunteers responded to the QV's call and gathered at Richti Square at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 20th. Equipped with garbage bags and gloves, they set out in small groups to search for discarded and leftover items. From glass bottles to aluminum cans, plastic packaging, pizza boxes, and even a smartphone battery, the volunteers collected everything imaginable and impossible. This year, the cleanup crew was supported by three ambassadors from the IG Saubere Umwelt, which launched Clean Up Day.
In the center of Wallisellen, a volunteer crew from QV's partner GLP went on anti-littering tour. The collected garbage was separated into recyclables and residual waste wherever possible. Aluminum, glass, and PET were placed in the appropriate recycling containers. Thanks to the efforts of GLP, the Unterhaltsabteilung of the city of Wallisellen and the waste disposal company Remondis, all residual waste could be thrown into a skip directly on site and free of charge.
